Timing
Place an element in its shot
Open an element's Timing page. Choose the time unit. Set Start relative to its timing anchor. Set Hold and, for a custom hold, Hold Length. Entry and exit durations describe the motion around the hold; they are not the same as the Target's total duration.
Use Show in Timing to inspect the element on the MotionDeck timing view. Check the full bar, including entry and exit. Changing frame rate changes how a duration falls on whole frames. Many project durations are stored in seconds; builds resolve them to frames. Controls explicitly marked in frames keep that unit.
For a Stack, adjust In and Stagger for its lines. Use Word Timing for the selected word. Keep inherited motion settings in mind when comparing two words.
For a video, set the clip range and playback speed separately from element timing. The clip controls which source frames play; the element timing controls when the composition shows them.
